SAFETY STUDIES  PYROTECHNIC

At the end of the historical research, and before any other operation, a pyrotechnic safety study (ESP) is carried out.

This ESP is divided into 2 parts according to the risks incurred for each of the 2 major operations that follow, namely  :

  • The first part deals with site preparation operations and the diagnosis of pyrotechnic pollution.

  • The second part deals with pyrotechnic clearance operations strictly speaking.

The first part is dedicated to studying precisely the conclusions of historical research and focuses mainly on identifying whether there is a pyrotechnic risk "  of surface  ".

That is to say, is it possible to find ammunition on the ground, which would incur a risk for the operators having to carry out the operations of clearing, deconstruction and diagnosis of the pyrotechnic pollution.

If this is not the case, the work mentioned above can be carried out without instructing the ESP with the competent State departments.

If the surface risk cannot be ruled out, the land preparation and diagnostic operations will require the drafting and examination of an ESP.

Regarding the second part (pyrotechnic depollution), it will in all cases require the drafting of an ESP. It is based on an analysis of the pyrotechnic risks incurred by the workers and by the worksite environment during each of the operational phases.

Compensatory measures or special protections are likely to be implemented depending on the conclusions of this analysis.
